It's Still Funny...

Yeah, I know it's been over a week since Saturday Night Live premiered and bestowed upon us this hilarious digital short, but I am STILL singing it! And since this past weekend's installment of the show was a yawner, I keep going back to the brilliance that is 'I Ran So Far Away.'

The kicker for NBC is that they somehow failed to secure the digital rights to this video?!?! After threatening YouTube with lawsuits if clips of any NBC shows are uploaded and dropping iTunes because they wouldn't raise prices for episodes of The Office and other network hits, they forget to legally cover what they must have known would generate huge Internet buzz? Duh! Now they can't upload the video to their own site because they didn't get the rights from the guy (Richard James, aka Aphex Twin) whose song they use in it. Funny how what comes around goes around. It serves them right for being so lame about YouTube and iTunes- this is the year 2007, guys, DEAL WITH IT. It reminds me of when the big music companies were claiming that the sky was falling when Napster first came out. Evolve with the times, peeps! iTunes didn't end up being so bad for you all now, did it? Freaking out about new technology is just one more example of why The Man is poop!
