Drumroll, please… e is writing for redbox!

The time has finally come to let you all in on something I’ve been working on over the past few months. I am proud to announce that one of my lifelong dreams has come true: it is now officially my job to review movies and report on Hollywood gossip. Can you believe it?!? Miracles do happen, my friends!

Many of you might be familiar with a company called redbox® that has DVD rental kiosks in grocery stores, McDonald’s, Wal-Marts and other locations (more than 15,000) across the country. Usually when I say, “You know, those red machines that rent DVDs for $1 a day?” people respond, “Oh yeah, I’ve used that thing!”

If you haven’t seen a redbox and live in the United States, you can find out if there’s one near you here (choose the “20 mile radius” option to see your surrounding area). If there's not one near you now, there probably will be soon. Anyway, redbox is launching an entertainment blog today and yours truly is one of its writers. Hooray!

I’m going to be posting about 15 – 20 entries over the course of any given week on redblog™ (each author has his or her name in the post's footer), so if you read my stuff on that site as well as this one, you’ll be getting “three to four times the e” that you’ve grown used to over the years. Do you think you can handle it? Do you think the public at large can handle it? (Did I mention that redbox has millions of customers?)

For those of you overseas, it really doesn’t matter that redbox is not in your country just yet, because I’m going to be writing about movies and celebrity gossip and a lot of the same stuff I usually rant about on this site. So everything I post on will still be relevant to you, too.

I’m going to do my best to continue updating this site once a day on the weekdays. I feel carpal tunnel coming on already...

Anyway, I hope all of you come check out redblog and see what you think. And I must thank you for reading this site and Long Live Locke over the years, because if it hadn’t been for the support and encouragement you guys have given me, I would’ve stopped writing… and then redbox would never have found me. And then I would not be able to make this statement: “I have to get to the bottom of this “Cher to play Catwoman in the Dark Knight sequel” rumor — it’s my job!!!

Edited to add: There IS an RSS feed link for those of you interested... it's in the upper-right corner of redblog -- it's a text link.

Hey guys -

Thanks for all of your nice comments!

And there actually is an RSS feed link, it's in the upper-right corner of the site... a text link only (no feedburner icon/logo, but it still works)...
