Three cheers for Stanley Steemer!

I am happy to say that my condo is slowly but surely approaching normalcy after the flood we had in our lower level on Tuesday.

We had new carpet padding put down and then the carpeting re-laid on Friday morning, and then Stanley Steemer came out to deep clean on Saturday morning. I am pleasantly surprised with the results!

As no one could ever accuse me of being an excellent housewife, four years ago when we first moved in, I noticed that we were dirtying up the cream-colored berber carpet we had just installed on the stairs and throughout our entire lower level. So what did I do, but attempt to clean it with blue dish washing liquid detergent, leaving dark blue lines across about six of the top steps (then I realized what I was doing, so I stopped). Fast-forward to yesterday morning, when the Stanley Steemer representative moved the magical vacuum over the steps and voilĂ ! The dark lines almost entirely vanished - certainly no one who hadn't known they were there would notice. I stood there, mouth gaping, in amazement - wondering why it took a flood to get me to try out a carpet cleaning service.

We had a few other dark spots on the rug, just from dirt in the main path where everyone walks, and all of those are gone, too. I had tried to clean those before with Resolve Carpet Cleaner, and then heard from a relative that "insiders" know that Resolve is actually really bad to use on carpeting?!?! How am I supposed to know these things?!?!

Needless to say, I will definitely be having Stanley Steemer come back on a regular basis. I just wish they spelled "Steemer" correctly because that bugs the crap out of me!

what is this some type of advert. this blog or whatever this is suppose to be is the reason why the net is so commercialized with nothing but junk.
i have used stanley steemer before and they were overpriced for the so called deep cleaning i got.

Uh, no... I'm just someone who writes about a lot of different things for fun. I don't receive any money for this site (notice that there are no ads running) or receive kickbacks for anything I write about. If you review the rest of the site you'll see I mostly cover pop culture topics, but every once in a while if I'm really pleased with a service I'll write about that, because so many places don't live up to my expectations.

Sorry you had a bad experience with S Steemer, but I had a good one. I'm sure a lot of it is simply dependent on who comes to your house that day.

your kidding right, you have 2 photo's of stanley in your post and a link to their website. this looks like a mini website. acually this little blog is better than their website, but tell them that.

Once again, no, I'm not kidding. I am in no way affiliated with Stanley Steemer, I doubt they even know I ever posted about them, and I certainly was never paid to do so.

Why don't you click on the header of my site and review other posts than this one and you'll quickly see that I usually write about pop culture topics. Perhaps you don't read a lot of blogs, but it's not unheard of for people to link to other sites, and millions of random bloggers write about good experiences they've had just to write about them without any hidden agenda.

Anyway, it doesn't sound like you'll be convinced no matter what. But if there's anyone who agrees with you about the Internet being overly commercialized, it's me, which is once again why I have NO ADS running on my site and have never been paid for anything I've written on this blog.

Very interesting... I just looked on their site and couldn't find such a link... If you have the page it's on, I would very much appreciate checking it out. I looked under all of their major sections... they don't even have a "News" page up and running, so I'm stumped as to where this link would be hidden. Couldn't even find it on the seemingly comprehensive "Site Map."

Thanks,
